Bouldering is un-roped climbing. This is the most distilled climbing, our orientation tells you how to land and then you can concentrate on the movement, balance and flow to work your way through the routes.
Top roping is climbing with a rope going from the climber, to the top of the wall, and then back down to a belayer (who is controlling the rope and the safety of the climber). In order to belay at Crimper's you must be able to pass our belay test, we do offer classes in belaying.
We also have three auto-belays, which allow climbers to climb by themselves with minimal training.
Lead climbing is starting with the rope on the ground and leading it up to the top. It requires the most experience. In order to lead climb at Crimper's you must be able to pass our top-rope test and our lead climbing test. We also offer classes in lead climbing.
Climbing is all about technique. Once you have technique you need strength. Crimper's hosts a large training area with climibng specific training equipment along with weights, plyo-boxes and space to stretch and work-out.
Climbing has inherent dangers and is a physcially demanding sport. Any fall from any height can cause serious injuries. Proper training is required. Climbing equipment must always be used according to manufactures instructions and your safety is your responsibility.
